Good news, I was recently interviewed by Kyla Denanyoh, creator of “YOU ARE A LAWYER” podcast, to discuss my life as an attorney, globetrotter and travel journalist.
Every week, Kyla interviews a risk-taking lawyer to discuss how their legal education impacts their life. By sharing a lawyer’s experience before, during, and after law school, the podcast has become a safe space for lawyers to celebrate their ambition and express themselves without judgment.
In April 2020, she launched her podcast and has interviewed 200+ guests.
Good news! Elaine Lee was a featured speaker at the 2026 SF Bay Area Travel and Adventure Show’s Savvy Traveler Stage at the Santa Clara Convention Center on March 21. She taught a class entitled “From Journey to Journalist: Travel Writing 101.” This beginner’s course helped the attendees get one step closer to learning what it takes to become a travel writer while unwrapping the magic of travel writing. I am thrilled to announce my partnership with Panorama Journal in the production of their epic and historic Paris edition (8/1/25). Working with Panorama writer and Go Girl contributor, Faith Adiele as well as Panorama Director, Matt Webb, we created a special feature section that showcases two essays from the anthology that I edited, “Go Girl: The Black Woman’s Book of Travel and Adventure” (1997), and two essays from its sequel, “Go Girl 2 (2024)”. We also included an updated reflection from me on my first trip to Paris where I caught the travel bug and shed my workaholic ways.
The feature section reveals the diversity of Black women’s travel and the importance of Paris to the Black imaginary.
The work of Go Girl contributors has been joined with over 50 other writers in sharing their favorite Paris stories. The edition has been divided into 12 chapters, e.g., Decolonized Travel, Memoir, Books, Fiction, Poetry and Nature to make it easier to navigate this massive offering.

Live on the Bay
On January 23, 2024, Elaine made a guest appearance on “Live on the Bay” a daily talk show that airs on KRON-TV/Channel 4 in the San Francisco Bay Area. The interview was a wonderful opportunity to share news about the soon to be released book “Go Girl 2” as well as share some vital travel tips.
The December 19, 2023 edition of the SF Chronicle’s SFgate.com featured a story about Elaine Lee and her upcoming travel book.
Cuisine Noir featured Elaine Lee and her soon to be released book, “Go Girl 2” in the February 1st edition of their magazine. Travel writer, Kalin Thomas and photographer/editor, Sheree Williams teamed up to do a remarkable job chronicling Elaine’s literary and travel journeys.
